In an continuing effort to assure children are ready for school, QCC has published the 2007 Early Care and Education Guide. This is the fifth edition of the comprehensive resource guide for parents and child care providers. The Guide was produced in partnership with JK Harris Publications LLC (JKH) and includes complete and updated listings of licensed providers serving the metro Atlanta area. The new guide provides information on child care centers, school age programs, group homes and family child care homes, sorted by city and zip code. Included in this information are days and hours of operation, whether the provider is accredited and professional recognition, where applicable. Parents can also find out if a care provider offers meals, accepts CAPS or is a part of Georgia Pre-K. The guide also includes articles on the types of child care available, children’s health and safety and stages of child development that are presented in English and Spanish. The guides are now available at Kroger, Pediatrician, OB/GYN and Dentist offices as well as area public libraries. If you would like to see the guide online click here
