Meridith Rentz

CEO & President at MedShare

Meridith joined MedShare in August 2011. Previously, Meridith served as COO of Points of Light Foundation, Chief Administrative Officer for Emory Internal Medicine and worked in Deloitte Consulting's Healthcare Strategy and Operations practice, assisting clients in the United States, New Zealand and Portugal. Prior to consulting, she worked with the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control in the area of tuberculosis control and also owned a small business that provided computer consulting to rural medicinal providers.

She is an alumnus of both the Rollins School of Public Health and Goizueta Business School at Emory University where she received her Master of Public Health and Master of Business Administration degrees as a Woodruff Fellow. She received her BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina as a Morehead Scholar.


Mike Grindell

Chair-Elect, QCC Board of Trustees – EVP, Chief Administrative Officer, 22squared

Mike joined 22squared five years ago as our CAO after a 16-year run as an executive of The Coca-Cola Company. There he held a variety of roles, including Human Resources Director for the largest global business unit, Group Organization Effectiveness Director for the Fountain business, leader of North America Talent Management, and director of Coca-Cola’s North America talent movement strategy. Prior to Coca-Cola, Mike held high-responsibility positions in Citigroup and
Federated Department Stores, respectively.
 
In addition to spending time with his three incredible children, Mike is an avid U2, Nascar, and Kansas Basketball fan. He gets up at 4:00 a.m. every morning to run. We didn’t even know there was a 4:00 a.m.


Brad Newton

Treasurer, QCC Board of Trustees - Director of Community Health Record program for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

This program encompasses all of Children's efforts to share electronic health information between hospitals, immediate care, primary care and specialists.

In 2009 and 2010, Brad built a Healthcare Internal Audit business for PwC across Atlanta, Nashville and Birmingham, and he led the outsourced internal audit department for Grady Memorial Hospital, Georgia's largest hospital. Brad has also led the internal audit department for a major US airline, and has helped manage internal audit departments for manufacturing companies. Outside of internal audit, Brad has helped company leaders understand and prioritize responses to the most significant risks facing their companies in the financial services, manufacturing, retail and transportation industries.

Brad and his wife Bevin live in Atlanta with their triplet sons, Russell, Taylor and Derek.


Jonathan Hunt

Vice Chair, QCC Board of Trustees - Associate at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP

Jonathan is an attorney practicing with the law firm of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP based in Atlanta, Georgia. He focuses his practice on a broad range of matters involving finance, real estate development and corporate transactions. His practice involves representing a variety of companies, construction management firms and commercial real estate developers in the acquisition, development, financing and leasing of various projects in the commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial, medical and residential industries. He also represents institutional lenders in secured lending transactions including senior secured revolving credit loans and mezzanine financings. Jonathan also counsels clients with retail rollout and wind-up strategy. In addition to real estate transactions, he has also advised clients in asset purchases, mergers/acquisitions and corporate reorganizations.

Prior to joining McKenna, Jonathan was in-house counsel for Limited Brands, Inc. where he advised senior and executive management regarding issues related to the company’s real estate, construction, new brand/store development, brand marketing initiatives, retail-roll out strategy and compliance issues. He also served as primary counsel for Victoria’s Secret and Intimate Beauty Corporation. Jonathan started his legal career as an associate with Baker & Hostetler LLP, where he advised clients in various corporate, intellectual property and real estate matters.

Prior to law school, Jonathan served as a lead Project Engineer for Gilbane, Inc., an international construction management company, where he supervised over $100 million worth of construction and program management projects in the corporate, educational, pharmaceutical, health care and advance technologies sectors.  Jonathan regularly managed project cost control/reporting, scheduling, contract compliance, and maintaining overall project quality control and documentation. Jonathan also drafted bid package requirements for subcontractors and master service agreements with owners, architects and engineers.


Michelle Matthews

Secretary, QCC board of Trustees – President, Matthews Consulting Group LLC

Matthews Consulting Group is an Atlanta-based management consulting firm with an established reputation for helping organizations and individuals implement strategic change to improve performance.

With more than 20 years of experience in organizational development and consulting, Michelle is instrumental in developing strategies to improve business processes, maximize human capital and increase revenues. She serves as a trusted advisor to numerous Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations and educational institutions, ranging from Delta Air Lines, BellSouth and Georgia-Pacific to United Way, Atlanta Public Schools and Spelman College.

With a keen insight to quickly grasp the internal and external dynamics of an organization or institution, Michelle successfully facilitates strategic planning workshops and team-building sessions. She creates processes to help organizations achieve greater and more measurable results. Whether it’s advising a senior leadership team, coaching an executive or designing a new organizational structure, she is known for her passion, integrity and experience.

Prior to establishing Matthews Consulting in 1999, Michelle worked as a senior manager for IBM, KPMG Consulting and Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). In these positions, she was responsible for leading project teams to develop and implement methods for strategic action planning, group facilitation, organizational change management, executive coaching and business process redesign. In addition to increasing the productivity of several companies, her leadership helped to earn over $2 million in profits for a major beverage distributor. Her superior performance at IBM, KPMG, and Accenture garnered countless awards and recognitions.

Today, as a leading authority on adapting to changing environments, Michelle has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Black Enterprise, Emerging Business, and Smart Money. She is also the author of a monthly column for the Atlanta Tribune magazine titled, "Performance Zone" that provides leadership strategies for success. She also appeared as a guest on the CNNfn program, "Your Money" as an expert on leadership and change.

Michelle is a member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors Network. She is also a board member for the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education (GPEE).

Michelle’s community involvement includes serving as mentor for Gateways to Excellence, a training and development program for female professionals. Past community leadership activities also include serving as a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, the Atlanta Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity, and tutoring elementary school children in her neighborhood.

Michelle is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College, with a degree in Economics.

Sparks Grove spends MLK Day helping Suburban Nursery

Quality Care for Children welcomed Atlanta-based marketing agency, Sparks Grove and their 30 volunteers to help brighten the school’s outdoor play areas. Sparks Grove is the fifth corporate volunteer group in Quality Care for Children’s Corporate Volunteer Program that launched in March 2011. Quality Care for Children’s outreach program is designed to assist child care centers in improving quality, performing tasks such as: mulching play areas and installing playground equipment.
