Bright from the Start is extending the period for public comment on the proposed CCS rule revisions.
In follow-up to the written and oral comments received from providers regarding proposed amendments to Child Care Services rules, BFTS will hold open dialogue community forums across the state for discussion on clarification suggestions to these rules.
BFTS will consider refinements to Rule 591-1-1-.31 (Staff) and Rule 290-2-1-.09 (Administration and Staff Requirements) concerning experience of directors/administrators and teacher turnover/hiring new staff without credentials after July 2012. Also, BFTS will consider refinements to Rule 591-1-1-.12 (Equipment and Toys), Rule 290-2-1-.12 (Equipment), and Rule 290-2-3-.12 (Equipment and Supplies) regarding anchoring requirements.
A community forum meeting will be held in each of the six Child Care Services regions of the state. Dates for these community forum meetings will be posted on our website at www.decal.ga.gov.

August 18, 5:30pm until 7:30 pm in Room 115 at DeKalb Technical College Clarkston (495 N. Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston GA 30021)
August 19, 5:30pm until 7:30pm in the Auditorium of Chattahoochee Technical College – N Metro Campus ( 5198 Ross Road, Acworth GA 30102)
August 20, 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Winfield Hall Duluth (3890 Satellite Blvd, Duluth GA 30096)
At the conclusion of the open dialogue community forum meetings, BFTS will take into account the suggestions received at the community forums as the agency fine tunes the proposed rule revisions. Thereafter, a final Public Hearing will be scheduled in Macon, Georgia to receive oral and written comments on proposed amendments to Child Care Services rules and regulations.
