 Child care is among the most important professions. With nearly 85 % of the children in the U.S. in child care part or all of their days, we cannot afford to miss this critical opportunity in their development. Research has shown that 90 percent of a child's brain develops in the first three years of life. Children who benefit from high quality child care display better cognitive and language development, school readiness, and early school achievement. Child care professionals who provide quality child care are critical to children's success in school and beyond.


We help child care professionals in the following ways.

Training: Bright From the Start: The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning requires that child care providers and teachers get a minimum of 10 hours approved or state accepted training annually, in addition to CPR and First Aid. QCC can help you meet all of your training needs.

Resource Center: Through our resource center we can loan you items you need. The resource center is stocked with educational toys and materials, videos, a laminating machine, dye cuts, and many more items that can help you. It is also a great place to meet other caregivers and to speak with our staff about your challenges and needs.

Improve Quality: The state requirements for child care are minimum standards. We have several programs to help you improve the quality of your family child care home or child care center far exceeding the state standards - all the way to National Accreditation, the highest standard in quality.

Child Care Food Program: The Child Care Food Program reimburses family child care providers for the costs of snacks and meals to the children in their care.

Start-Up: Quality Care for Children can help you open a child care center or start a child care business in your home (family child care.)
