Family, Friend & Neighbor Care
Many parents choose to leave their children
in the care of a grandmother or other relative or a trusted neighbor or friend
while they are at work or in school. For many families this is a good choice.
And even though these caregivers are not registered or licensed as professional
child care providers, they share a big responsibility. They are responsible
for providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children in their care
and play an important role in preparing young children for school.
