Workshops for Families, Caregivers, and Groups

Our experts conduct workshops designed to help parents, caregivers, and children make the most of early learning experiences. Workshops currently offered include:

Quality Play

Children who receive quality early learning experiences display better cognitive language development, school readiness and early school achievement. That’s why we created Quality Play.
 
This playgroup (for parents or caregivers and young children) is led by an early education specialist, and is designed to help you support your child's learning through play.
 
Quality Play offers information about child development and ideas for supporting their learning through play. Each week’s playgroup has a different theme, including:

  • Active physical play
  • Art & imaginative creations
  • Building & constructing
  • Dramatic play & social skills
  • Language & literacy development
  • Math & manipulatives
  • Music & movement
  • Nature & science
  • Sensory exploration

Georgia Parent Action Network

The Georgia Parent Action Network Center is our state’s source for information about issues affecting infants and young children and families. We invite parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, educators and anyone interested in improving the lives of children to join our online community.

Sparks Grove spends MLK Day helping Suburban Nursery

Quality Care for Children welcomed Atlanta-based marketing agency, Sparks Grove and their 30 volunteers to help brighten the school’s outdoor play areas. Sparks Grove is the fifth corporate volunteer group in Quality Care for Children’s Corporate Volunteer Program that launched in March 2011. Quality Care for Children’s outreach program is designed to assist child care centers in improving quality, performing tasks such as: mulching play areas and installing playground equipment.

As tough economic times continue to put a strain on families and the child care services they use in Georgia, a group of concerned citizens led by Quality Care for Children and Georgia First Lady, Sandra Deal, is hoping a major fundraising event in April will bring more money and awareness to what has become an urgent and growing problem this year.

The economy is taking its toll on a child care system that needs to be thoroughly revamped for the sake of children, families and even the state’s economic future.
