I hope all is well as the New Year gets underway! While many people may shy away from turning 40, the Quality Care for Children (QCC) nonprofit is going “over the hill” this year and I couldn’t be more excited! As a member of QCC’s Board of Trustees, I have seen their dedicated staff’s work to ensure young children in Georgia are nurtured, educated, and reach their full potential. In just this past year, the organization:

  • Helped child care programs and their staff: 732 training classes facilitated, 926 programs assisted with Quality Rated consulting support, and $590,351 provided in quality improvement grants to local programs

  • Helped Georgia’s children and families: 5,074 free child care referrals given to parents, 268 weeks of emergency child care provided to families in crisis, 192 child care scholarships awarded to college student parents, and 4,546,370 nutritious meals served through QCC’s Child Care Food Program

To celebrate this special anniversary year, the organization is hosting a 40th Birthday Party on February 21, 2019 at the Sweetwater Brewery Woodlands Barrel Room. It will be a fun after-work gathering with Fox Bros Bar-B-Q and of course, birthday cake. Even if you can’t attend, it would mean a lot to me if you can make birthday “gift” to support the organization and their critical work in the community!
